EU. Earlier today, KU reported to the government for having ignored the Riksdag's EU committee's decision that the government would express Sweden's support for a tribute to nuclear power that France, Hungary and Poland, among others, supported during the EU summit. Now the Moderates are also reporting the incident.

Ten EU countries demanded in a letter that nuclear power be classified as an environmentally friendly energy source, but the Social Democrat government did not intend to sign the letter.

In mid-October, however, the Riksdag's EU decided mentioned that the government would express support for the nuclear-friendly letter during the EU summit in Brussels – something that the government then ignored. .

At a meeting on 20 October, Stefan Löfven acknowledged that the committee's decision had not been listened to.

– The government cannot reasonably choose at its discretion which mandate they should follow or not follow. What the Prime Minister put forward as an excuse for not presenting what the EU Committee ordered him to do should therefore be irrelevant, says Martin Kinnunen (SD) in a press release.

– I think it is completely unacceptable, says Jessica Rosencrantz (M) to TT.

Löfven says that the action is not about nonchalance towards the Riksdag but that he thinks he can go against the EU committee.

– This is nothing like happens every week, or every other week or even every year. And it was a unique case for me anyway. Now I have been to 66 council meetings and for me it was the first time, says Löfven to TT.
