Hands-on videos and experiences with the MacBook Pro 2021

The first hands-on experiences with the MacBook Pro 2021 can now be found online, both in written articles and in videos. The latter are also very interesting at the moment, because you can actually see the laptop in use and because few people outside of Apple have had the product in their hands yet. There are several unboxing videos that give you an impression of the packaging and putting it into use.

Hands-on at TechCrunch

TechCrunch took a look at the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the entire editorial team was enthusiastic about one specific feature: MagSafe. Considering the price, it's not the laptop for everyone. The MacBook Air is sufficient for most consumers, but if you often run into the limits of computing power, this new MacBook Pro is a nice combination of the best features.

Review by The Verge

The MacBook Pro gives people what they want, is the title of The Verge's review. New chips, familiar ports and real volume buttons: this is what you want. It is therefore easy to get excited about the new MacBooks, writes Nilay Patel. He tested three models of this new MacBook and had less than a week to make his judgment. The first results are promising, but The Verge wants to put even more time into it to give a final verdict. For now, though, the signals are green.

CNET goes hands-on

The best of the old and the new, according to CNET. This professional MacBook brings back the old ports, but at the same time contains the latest chip. This laptop is aimed at a very specific audience of video editors, 3D designers and other creative professionals who need a powerful machine. However, the reviewer himself is not, but he sometimes does such jobs as a prosumer. For him, last year's M1 Macs were powerful enough. If you're a promising writer writing a book in a coffee shop, you'll pay a decent surcharge for a laptop with a better screen, a webcam and more ports. It's like driving a sports car through the pedestrian zone. But for professional users, this is a great choice. A more extensive review will also follow at CNET.

First impression of Engadget

Engadget sees the fantastic screen as a plus and keyboard, the fast M1 Pro and M1 Max and the fact that most of the ports you need are in there. The battery life is also good and the speakers sound good. The return of the SD card reader is greeted with cheers. But the reviewer is less happy with the high price and the fact that you cannot expand your RAM and storage. And that notch… that might annoy some people.
