Music. The Swedish music industry's investment in genres such as rap, hip hop and R & amp; B is often claimed to give immigrants the opportunity to leave criminal life. But in fact, the big streaming scene can explain why Sweden stands out with gang shootings in Europe, according to rapper Alexander Ceesay.
– It has become so that your life is drawn towards crime more and more the more you stream, he says. <.

– I honestly believe that Swedish hip hop and gun violence have a connection, says Alex Ceesay in a longer Youtube video where he reflects on Einár's death and points out the Swedish music industry as a springboard into the rough crime.

According to Ceesay, the music industry will probably not make anyone who has never had a gang & shy; crime become a criminal, but people on the move can be drawn into crime or end up in more serious crime by having to deal with the industry.

– It inspires, I think, younger people who are already heading in that direction to go harder in that lifestyle.

He himself knows no one in the industry who has nothing to do with the criminal world.

– Your life becomes somehow more in danger the more you end up in the spotlight, says Alex Ceesay.

He also points out how difficult it is to change lifestyle:

– It is extreme extremely difficult as a rapper to get out of the gangster lifestyle. Because if you end up there, there are extremely many haters and jealous other criminals who will do anything to test you or make you look keff so you have to sort of vest and wear straps as just because of it.

The rapper adds to Aftonbladet:

– The biggest thing you can be now is a gangster with a microphone. For example, you can not rap that you shoot people if you do not. It is incredibly important not to appear fake.

After the kidnapping in April 2020, Ceesay describes how Einár became more cautious. They should have made music together but Einár got cold feet and stopped. He later told Alex Ceesay that he was afraid it was a trap, something that Ceesay understands as several in the industry are cautious in the same way.

– Everyone nowadays has studios in strange places, does not post on Instagram when they are there. Then you are an open target. I understand that it may sound strange to ordinary people, but that's how it is, the rapper tells Aftonbladet.

Ceesay also tells the newspaper that he thinks the whole genre is dangerous for society, but that it is difficult to ban.

– If it is a young person who is slipping and searching for identity, then I think it is very dangerous to listen to gangster rap. At the same time, I do not think it is possible to ban, then it will probably just be even cooler.
