BMW announced that & egrave; production of its new electric i4 started in the Munich plant , Germany. To prepare the factory for the construction of this new model, the manufacturer worked hard and had to overcome some difficulties. In fact, the BMW 3 Series sedan and Touring (also hybrid), the BMW M3 and the BMW 4 Series Gran Coup & eacute; are also produced.
The production of all these models requires a great flexibility and the integration of dedicated infrastructures. To prepare the plant for the construction of the new electric, the German manufacturer has invested 200 million euros . 90% of the systems present on the site were already; compatible with the new model. Others were needed to assemble the floor, the rear and the battery pack.
This factory will be; very important within the automaker's electrification strategy. In fact, the brand has emphasized that by 2023 more of the half & agrave; of the vehicles produced in Monaco will have; of an electrified powertrain.
IN ITALY SINCE NOVEMBER 
The BMW i4 will arrive & agrave; in Italy during the month of November with prices starting from € 60,900 . Initially, the electric will be available in two versions: BMW i4 eDrive40 and BMW i4 M50 . The first model features a single electric motor with 250 kW (340 hp) and 430 Nm of torque. The speed maximum & egrave; of 190 km/h. It takes 5.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Thanks to the 83.9 kWh battery (80.7 kWh usable), the autonomy reaches up to 590 km according to the WLTP cycle. In direct current & egrave; can be recharged up to 200 kW. In alternating current up to 11 kW.
The second model, on the other hand, has a powertrain with double electric motor and therefore four-wheel drive. Overall, there are 400 kW (544 hp) with 795 Nm of torque available. The speed top speed reaches 225 km/h and to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h it takes 3.9 seconds using the Launch Control. The accumulator does not change. However, given the greater power, the autonomy drops to 510 km (WLTP).
The interiors are very technological thanks to the presence of a 12.3-inch screen for the instrumentation and an additional 14.9-inch display for infotainment that features the new iDrive 8 platform and connectivity; 5G.
