Amazon Appstore Preview: Microsoft startet die Android App Preview für Windows 11

Nachdem der Start von Windows 11 noch ohne Apps für Android erfolgen musste, hat Microsoft jetzt den Start der Android App Preview über die „Amazon Appstore Preview“ sowie das Windows Subsystem für Android (WSA) für sein neuestes Betriebssystem bekanntgegeben. Los geht es zuerst für Windows Insider im Beta Channel.

Amazon bringt Apps für Android auf Windows 11

Als erstes sollen die Teilnehmer des Windows Insider Programms im Beta Channel in den USA mit einem neuen Insider Preview Build bedient werden, der eine Vorschau auf den Amazon Appstore und das neue Windows Subsystem für Android (WSA) integriert haben soll. Windows 11 Insider im Dev Channel, der einen anderen Releasezyklus verfolgt, und Windows Insider in anderen Ländern werden voraussichtlich erst in den nächsten Wochen berücksichtigt.

Today we have announced that the first preview of Android™ apps on Windows 11 is now available for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel in the U.S.

Die entsprechenden Systemvoraussetzungen für die Nutzung der Amazon Appstore Preview und des Windows Subsystems für Android (WSA) hat Microsoft ebenfalls bereits auf seinem Windows Blog bekanntgegeben.

To get started:

Your PC needs to be on Windows 11 (Build 22000.xxx series builds) and meet these hardware requirements.

You may need to enable virtualization for your PC’s BIOS/UEFI. Click here for a guide on how to enable this on your PC.

Your PCs’ region must be set to the U.S.

Your PC must be in the Beta Channel. If you are new to the Windows Insider Program, click here to get started with registration and joining your PC to the Beta Channel.

You will also need to have a U.S.-based Amazon account to use the Amazon Appstore.

Die Amazon Appstore Preview ist auch bereits auf der Website und in der deutschsprachigen Version des stabilen Builds 22000.194 von Windows 11 im Microsoft Store zu finden. Dabei handelt es sich aber noch um einen Platzhalter.

Neben Microsoft hat auch Amazon am heutigen Tag eine entsprechende Pressemitteilung veröffentlicht und die Amazon Appstore Preview für Windows 11 ebenfalls angekündigt. Über die Microsoft Docs veröffentlichte Microsoft zudem neue Informationen für Entwickler.

Für den Test der Apps für Android unter Windows 11 stehen die folgenden Anwendungen und Spiele zur Auswahl:

Mobile games: Play some of the most popular mobile games like Lords Mobile, June’s Journey, Coin Master, and more.

Reading: Enjoy reading your favorite book with Kindle, or a digital comic series with Comics on your Windows tablet and swipe pages with the ease of a finger.

Kids content: Teach your child math, reading, and writing skills with award-winning Khan Academy Kids, or build new digital spaces with Lego Duplo World.

Microsoft hob zudem hervor, dass mit den Win32-Anwendungen und PWA-Apps aus dem Microsoft sowie den Subsystemen für Linux und Android zukünftig vier Ökosysteme nebeneinander unter Windows 11 laufen werden.
