Razer has introduced two new microphones in the Seiren V2 series. While the V2 Pro is aimed primarily at professional streamers and podcasters, the V2 X is intended to appeal to beginners with a smaller budget.

The Pro is at an RRP of 159.99 -Variant of the V2 equipped with a dynamic microphone, which, according to the manufacturer, should offer “rich and powerful voice recordings” so that “streamers can reproduce the deep, warm quality of their voices”. The integrated high-pass filter and the analog gain limiter should ensure that the result cannot be distinguished from the sound of a radio station. Background and background noises should be filtered effectively.

The frequency response of the Seiren V2 Pro extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, the signal is processed with a sampling rate of 96 kHz and a resolution of 24 bits. Controls for volume, amplification and muting are attached to the microphone to make it easier to use during recording. The decoupling is intended to protect against unwanted vibrations caused by bumps and blows, the same applies to plosive and hissing noises. A direct and thus latency-free monitoring is also possible through the built-in 3.5 mm jack connection.

Cheaper, but with fewer functions

The Seiren V2 X, on the other hand, only offers a 25 mm condenser microphone with supercardioid polar pattern with the same frequency response, same sampling rate and resolution, but is significantly cheaper at 109.99 euros . The integrated high-pass filter must also be dispensed with, which can, however, also be implemented on the software side. The already described gain limiter, the vibration protection and the haptic controller for the signal amplification are also on board in the smaller version.

Both microphones are now available from Razer and authorized dealers.
