Herbert Diess , CEO of the Volkswagen Group, & egrave; particularly active on social networks and often takes the opportunity to share ideas, suggestions and projects on mobility; electric. We know very well, in fact, how the German manager is a great supporter of electric cars . Not for nothing, the Group's electrification plan is; very ambitious.

One of the latest posts on his about him profile of him LinkedIn & egrave; very curious as the manager aims to show the advantages of electric cars compared to endothermic ones in terms of costs . It does so by citing a research by Autozeitung in which the operating costs of three electric cars of the Volkswagen Group are compared with those of three endothermic models of the same Group.

Driving an internal combustion car costs up to 50% more; of an electric car.

In the table shared by Diess – and which we report – & egrave; A comparison was made between the Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI and Volkswagen ID.4 Pure, between the Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 4×4 and the Skoda Enyaq iV 80 and between the Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro and the Audi Q4 50 e-tron quattro.

Driving a Volkswagen Tiguan costs about 30% more; per kilometer compared to an ID.4. A kilometer in an Audi Q5 costs about 40% more; compared to a Q4 e-tron. And drive a Skoda Kodiaq & egrave; about 50% more; expensive per kilometer compared to an Enyaq.

Starting from these numbers and considerations, the CEO states that & egrave; the time has come for a change , that is; to switch to an electric car. Diess's message & egrave; very clear and aims to show the advantages of electric versus thermals in terms of operating costs. Curiously, the fact that the comparison was made with endothermic models of the Volkswagen Group as if to say not to buy them, inviting people to buy the new electric proposals.

The Group's sales data, shared recently, they show a great progress of the electric ones but the endothermic models are still the most & ugrave; sold. That of Diess & egrave; a completely different line from that held by his other colleagues who, instead, do exactly the opposite, expressing doubts about the electric.
