The benchmark database of the real-time strategy game Ashes of the Singularity now reveals a hybrid CPU from the Alder Lake-P series for mobile use with 14 cores and for the first time with the Core i9-12900H 20 threads. Six large cores with HT are combined with eight small cores and put in a cTDP corset up to 45 watts.

The Intel Core i9-12900H is supported by 16 GB of RAM – DDR4 and DDR5 are conceivable – as well as a mobile offshoot of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080. The database entry shows the Intel Core i9-12900H with six large and performance-optimized Golden Cove P-Cores and eight small E-Cores alias Grace Mont. Since the “Efficiency Cores” optimized for high efficiency do not support HT, there are a total of 20 threads for the expected top SKU.

Expected to be late October/early November Alder Lake-S is celebrating its debut with the Core i9-12900K and 24 threads in the desktop. It is currently uncertain when the mobile offshoots Alder Lake-P from 15 to 55 watts are to be expected, but will not be expected until the beginning of the new year 2022. The new architecture from Intel is also expected with even smaller SKUs below 15 watts.
