The Argentine Linux newcomer Auxtral 3 (“Alsephina”) is based on Debian 11 (“Bullseye”), which is considered to be particularly stable, and relies on the four desktops Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, Mate and Xfce. The distribution moves close to the base and sets its own accents in the browser and the design of the work environment.

Newcomer relies on Brave

< p class = "p text-width"> The still young Linux distribution Auxtral is offered in four editions, each with a pre-installed desktop and its specific apps and tools.

You can choose between system images with Cinnamon 4.8.0, KDE Plasma 5.20.5, Mate 1.26 and Xfce 4.16. The foundation is the current Debian 11 (“Bullseye”) with Linux 5.10 LTS.

Missing software is available via Debian packages (.deb) and the in-house software store or the command line and APT reloaded. The distribution has parallels to the Linux Mint Debian Edition, which is very similar in structure and follows the same approach.

In addition to its own themes with matching icons and accent colors, it is the browser that particularly catches the eye, because unlike most Linux distributions, the project does not start Mozilla Firefox or Chromium, but Brave.

The rest of the software selection corresponds to what users also find with other current distributions and is strongly based on the standard installation of the Debian basis.
