Ann Linde in Israel

Abroad. Foreign Minister Ann Linde (S) will visit Israel and Palestine until Tuesday. This is the first time a Swedish foreign minister has visited the country in ten years.

“Just arrived in Israel. This official visit means a fresh start for relations between Israel and Sweden”, Ann Linde writes on Twitter.

In Israel, Ann Linde will have discussions with the Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and have a meeting with President Isaac Herzog. She will also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and attend the inauguration of an exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of Sweden's diplomatic presence in Israel.

In Palestine, Ann Linde will meet with President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh and Foreign Minister Riyad al -Malki. She will also meet “representatives of civil society”, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
