The electrification strategy of the Volkswagen Group, we know, & egrave; very ambitious. The market that grows the most; & egrave; the Chinese one where 28,900 cars were delivered compared to 7,000 in 2020. C & # 39; & egrave; was, therefore, a growth of 315.2% in the third quarter of 2021.
A fact, that of China, which no longer amazes us; much since the Volkswagen Group is investing heavily in this market, with the launch of several battery-powered models, including the ID.6, designed specifically for Chinese customers. The numbers are even better if we look at the first 9 months of the year. In this period, the Volkswagen Group delivered 293,100 electric cars with a growth of 138.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Between January and September, Volkswagen, the main brand, delivered to customers 167,800 BEVs (57% of the Group's total), followed by Audi with 52,800 units & agrave; (18%), Skoda with 32,100 units & agrave; (11%), Porsche with 28,600 units & agrave; (10%) and SEAT with 8,800 vehicles (3% share).
In the first 9 months of the year Plug-in hybrids also performed well . The Volkswagen Group reports that 246,000 PHEV models have been delivered, plus; double compared to the same period of 2020 (+ 133%).
