At least four people killed in a bow attack in Norway

Abroad. A man with a bow has killed several people in Kongsberg outside Oslo. According to Verdens Gang, at least four people are dead. The man is arrested and unharmed.

The attack occurred at a grocery store called Coop Extra. According to information to Norwegian VG and NRK, at least four people have died.

– It has been a serious incident in Kongsberg. There are several dead and injured, says Øyvind Aas, at the Norwegian police during a press conference at 10 pm.

– In such incidents, it is obvious to investigate whether it is an act of terrorism. But it is too early to say anything about the motive, he continues.

The military has searched central Kongsberg.

– The man has been arrested, there is no active search for more people. It is a person who performed the actions himself, says Aas.

According to Drammens Tidende, a policeman was shot in the back with a bow and arrow. However, the police state during the press conference that no police were injured in the incident.

The police currently do not provide information on how many people died.

The alarm reached the police at 18.13 on Wednesday night but it took over a half an hour, to 18.47, before the man could be arrested.

The perpetrator is said to have moved over a large area and shot people. There is therefore more than one crime scene in the case. Among other things, arrows must have been fired into the Coop Extra store.

The University Hospital in Oslo has sent eight ambulances and three ambulance helicopters to Kongsberg, states the news agency NTB.
