The car incentives in Italy have allowed to push the diffusion of electric and Plug-ins and have helped the automotive sector after the crisis caused by the outbreak of the pandemic. The eco-bonus for BEVs and PHEVs is finished and funds for cars in the 61-135 g/km CO2 range are running out. Given the situation in which the sector is experiencing difficulties; cause the chip crisis, automotive associations have long been asking for incentives to become structural .

This, to avoid continuing & quot; stop and go & quot; that make the incentives in fits and starts given that every time & egrave; necessary to wait for the intervention of the Government. A solution that would allow to support more; the market effectively. Apparently, the government is actually thinking about making the incentives structural. This was communicated by the Deputy Minister for Economic Development Gilberto Pichetto who made it known that the MISE is evaluating this opportunity.

The Mise is evaluating whether it is possible that the 39; ecobonus becomes a structural measure, without therefore the necessity; of an annual refinancing.

3 BILLION EURO

The hypothesis is; that the measure lasts for at least three years . According to what was communicated, the ministry would put one billion euros a year on the plate. Therefore, three billion euros would be needed to render structural incentives for three years. The discussion, however, is; still in the beginning. Just today at 17.00 will be held; at MISE a first meeting with all the main exponents of the automotive sector with whom there will be; a comparison also on this issue.

This first meeting has the purpose; to receive and share the contributions of all stakeholders regarding the trend of the automotive market in recent years and any proposals for incentive systems.

Any new incentives could also have a different structure. The funds for the electric will grow over time and those for the endothermic go to run out.

The funds could also come from a reorganization of the supports, those towards the traditional engines will run out, those dedicated electricity will have to grow. Two curves that will have a different trend in the coming years.

The measure, as mentioned at the beginning, was hoped for by many associations in the automotive world such as UNRAE who asked for greater support from the Government to a sector in great difficulty.
