M1X MacBook Pro coming in October’

We'll know soon enough whether Gurman is right. It is almost certain that MacBook Pros with M1X chip are coming. Apple would also like to host an October event, Gurman thinks, as a follow-up to last month's California Streaming event. There are still plenty of products on the roll that Apple can announce. The MacBook Pro will likely be the star of the show.

In addition, there will be a high-end Mac mini, but Gurman is not so sure about the release date. He does emphasize that Apple usually releases new Macs in October, so it is quite possible that the mini will also arrive this month. Last year, Apple held a Mac event in November, but that may have been due to all kinds of shifts due to the pandemic. Normally October is always dé Mac month.

Two variants of M1X chip

Gurman thinks two variants of the M1X have been developed, as more powerful versions of the M1 chip. They are intended for the more graphically intense and professionally oriented tasks. Both M1X variants have a 10-core CPU with 8 performance and 2 efficiency cores. The difference is in the GPU, which will be available with 16 or 32 cores.

Apple already announced the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, new iPad and a sixth-generation iPad mini last month. . We are still waiting for a release date for the Watch, new AirPods and of course the upcoming Macs. The MacBook Pro will probably be available in 14- and 16-inch formats, possibly with a mini-LED display, a redesigned housing without Touch Bar and various ports: sd, hdmi and MagSafe.
