iCulture App of the Month: Cibo Are you in a restaurant where you don't speak the language? Restaurants do not always have a (clear) English menu and of course no Dutch at all. Cibo is there for those situations. This app, made by Jordi Bruin, lets you scan your menus and send you the translation almost immediately.

You may be familiar with the function of Google Translate that also allows you to scan texts that are subsequently translated. An important difference with Cibo is the focus on food and drink. If you scan the name of a dish, you can view photos of the dish. This is sometimes worth it, especially with regional dishes, so that you are not faced with unpleasant surprises. Would you like to know how Cibo works and what we think about it? Then read our review of Cibo.

Fiper

Do you like to follow the news, but all those different news apps (and especially all those push notifications about the same news) drive you crazy? Then maybe Fiper is something for you. This Dutch app bundles all your news sources in one overview. When setting up, you choose the news categories that you find interesting. Fiper will then make a general selection.

In the tab bar at the top you will find the categories you have set and a way to discover resources. The app fetches articles via RSS. Unfortunately, there is no real reading function in the app. According to the developer, this is legally difficult to arrange. As soon as you open an article, the page will open as a website. You will stay in the app, so it's not a big deal. The app is completely free.

Chiff

Chiff is a free Dutch password manager. The app remembers all your passwords and also takes care of your verification codes from websites that use One Time Passwords (OTP). Chiff's source code is public, so anyone can verify that the app handles your privacy well. The app is not very special in design, but it does its job well. Especially special is the fact that the app is free. The makers have received funding from the EU.

Garden of Lassa

Looking for a little game for the little ones? Tuintje van Lassa is a strategic collecting game for children from 4 years. The intention is that players take the correct objects from the garden step by step. Some items have special actions. There is also a memory trainer where the objects are only visible for a short time. You can play with up to 4 people. There are no in-app purchases or commercials.
