Every eighth 21-year-old man is born in Afghanistan

Domestic. The government continues to change the population in the country and the fastest change of population is now among younger men. Among 21-year-olds, for example, 12 per cent of men were born in Afghanistan in 2020, according to Statistics Sweden's figures.

In 2020, according to Statistics Sweden, there were a total of 64,915 men aged 21 at the end of 2020.

Of these, 44,208 (68 per cent) were born in Sweden and 7,657 (12 per cent) were born. in Afghanistan, according to Statistics Sweden.

Other large groups were Syria (2,187), Somalia (1,518) and Iraq (1,074).

Among the 21-year-olds, there were comparatively only 143 men born in Denmark and 120 men born in Finland at the end of 2020.

In the entire population, the proportion of citizens with a foreign background was 25.5 percent at the end of 2020.
