New Volkswagen Polo, the range expands. The methane TGI arrives

The Volkswagen Polo restyling range is extended with the introduction of the methane version . It is an engine that, since the launch of the sixth generation of the model in 2017, has obtained a good response among Italian customers. Just to give some numbers, in the first eight months of 2021, with 4,765 units & agrave; registered, the Volkswagen Polo & egrave; was the most methane car sold.

For this reason, even with the restyling, the German brand has decided to re-propose this engine.

TGI ENGINE

Under the hood of the new Polo we find a 1 liter turbocharged three-cylinder TGI engine with 90 HP (66 kW) and 160 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 3,800 rpm. The engine & egrave; combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The speed maximum & egrave; of 183 km/h , while to go from 0 to 100 km/h it takes 12.3 seconds.

Speaking of consumption and emissions, Volkswagen declares for the Polo TGI a combined consumption of methane gas of 5.6-5.9 m3/100 km and CO2 emissions of 100-105 g/km. The car, therefore, is compatible with incentives for cars falling within the 61-135 g/km CO2 range.
