EU. The small USB-C connector will replace all types of data connectors for power, network, picture and sound, as intended. Now the EU wants to legislate that all devices can be charged via USB-C.

Today, almost all new smartphones use USB-C, except Apple which has its own Lightning connector.
The European Commission now wants all member states to introduce a common standard for charging cables.
The proposal prohibits manufacturers from charging their products more slowly if you use a charger from another brand.
A USB C output must be available on all tablets, mobile phones , cameras, headphones and portable speakers, the European Commission believes. The proposal will probably need to be revised as not all portable speakers can be charged with the 100 watts that USB-C can handle.
