Abroad. EU member states join France in the diplomatic conflict with Australia and the United States, which has entered into a defense alliance with Britain that prompted Australia to withdraw from an agreement on the supply of French submarines.

The United States announced last week that the countries have entered into a defense agreement with nuclear-powered submarines.
It was then clear that the United States and Australia had gone behind France and signed an agreement on nuclear-powered submarines with partial Australian manufacturing. France thus lost an already settled deal for the supply of diesel-electric attack submarines, which were sold to Australia for the equivalent of SEK 350 billion – an agreement that Australia terminated without warning.
