Domestic. DO called representatives of care providers and regions to a “dialogue meeting” after DN revealed that patients could choose to have an ethnic Swedish doctor. But even though the DO considers the action illegal, there will be no supervision this time.

On 14 September, the DO gathered representatives from Sweden's regions in connection with the information on how care providers handle care recipients' wishes regarding ethnicity, in the choice of, for example, doctors.
During the meeting, the DO reported, among other things. because the Discrimination Act prohibits discrimination and for the responsibility of employers.
The regions in turn reported on how they work to prevent and counteract discrimination and promote equal rights and opportunities in care.
– Now we have opened up for this dialogue and it is up to the regions to take advantage of it in a good way, says DO Lars Arrhenius in a press release.
At present, DO does not plan any supervision in healthcare due to the information that emerged in the media review. This is partly due to the fact that so far no reports have been received from people who feel that they have been discriminated against in the current situation.
