A total of SEK 14 billion is paid out in guarantee pensions, of which a third goes directly to immigrants.
Of the 4.5 billion paid out to immigrants, the Iraqis received most, 10 percent, then Iranians and then Bosnians. Syrians received 6 percent of the money and Somalis 2 percent.
More ethnic groups are in the statistics. Since 2010, payments to Afghans have risen by 450 percent and Eritreans by 500 percent.
The Swedish Pensions Agency estimates that the cost for immigrants in the pension system will amount to SEK 70 billion in 2060.
