Economics. Investing in additional benefits through a so-called “family week” instead of lowering the world's highest taxes is not reasonable in times of growing long-term unemployment, benefits & shy; dependence and so-called exclusion, warns the organization Entrepreneurs.

Family Week

  • Family week can cost more than the police

– Family week provides a clear picture of the government's priorities. As soon as the government sees a corner, they paint themselves into it, and with the autumn budget it becomes clear that the government has completely abandoned the working line principle that everyone who can work should work to contribute to our common welfare, says Fredrik Östbom, head of social policy at Företagarna , in a press release.

Entrepreneurs say they consistently lack investments that strengthen the incentives for work and self-sufficiency in the new budget./p>

But instead, it is thus additional leave and allowances that are promised for families with children, which is by far Sweden's most subsidized group.

With the hope of strengthening the chances in the 2022 election, the Minister of Finance generously distributes SEK 74 billion – a long-term unsustainable consumption of tax money that brings to mind the television program the luxury trap. The fears have come true: it became very expensive for the government, and in the long run for the whole country, to buy support from the Left Party and the Center Party in order to retain power, says Günther Mårder, CEO of Företagarna.

Företagarna believes that the budget focus on capital gains leads to problems even in the long run.

Even before the controversial budget was released, two out of three entrepreneurs said they “lack confidence” in the tax system's ability to redistribute money efficiently and fairly. And if the government wants to show that they take it seriously, action is needed, according to the organization.

– Reality will catch up. Additional contributions and beautiful words do not solve the problems of growing long-term unemployment and exclusion. It's time for a budget that goes together, even tomorrow. It requires investments in the growing small businesses, concludes Fredrik Östbom.
