Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE: Almost the same smartphone comes with a “new” SoC

Xiaomi now offers almost the same smartphone in two configurations with different SoCs. The company provides the Mi 11 Lite 5G with the 11 Lite 5G NE, which is equipped with a slightly modified SoC from Qualcomm. The new edition in a new color for 369.90 euros should start in October.

You can quickly get lost in Xiaomi's almost infinite product portfolio. The 11 Lite 5G NE announced today does its part, because in terms of features it is almost the same as the Mi 11 Lite 5G, which was announced in March. Not to forget that there is also a Mi 11 Lite without 5G, a Mi 11i, Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra (test) and the 11T and 11T Pro models also presented today.

Matt white as a new color

The 11 Lite 5G NE occupies the upper middle class and will be launched in Germany in the course of October at a non-binding price of 369.90 euros. The new color is Snowflake White, a matt and frosted white that is supposed to be reminiscent of freshly fallen snow. Truffle Black, Bubblegum Blue and Peach Pink will already be known and also available. The smartphone is only planned in this country in a memory configuration with 6 GB/128 GB.

SoC made by TSMC

Apart from the colors, the biggest difference to the Mi 11 Lite 5G is in the “new” SoC from Qualcomm. Instead of the Snapdragon 780G, the 778G is used, which Qualcomm presented in May and which is manufactured by the TSMC foundry instead of Samsung. The manufacturing process changes from Samsung 5LPE to TSMC N6, but the other key data are largely the same. It should be noted, however, the change to a newer LPDDR5 memory interface. With the Adreno 642L, the Snapdragon 778G has a somewhat weaker GPU on board.
