Greek police confirm that Abdi Elmi was arrested after “traveling with false documents”.
According to information, it was about Swedish passports that were not his own, writes P4 Kronoberg Greek police do not want to confirm, however, that what the S-profile was doing was trying to smuggle illegal immigrants to Sweden.
Abdi Elmi was released after the arrest on bail and has not been able to reach for a comment, according to P4.
In addition to his political career within S, Abdi Elmi has also attracted attention in his role as chairman of the Somali football team Växjö United. In January, he was arrested on suspicion of gross fraud.
