At Gamescom 2021, Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is still in beta, will make its way to the next-gen Xbox Series X/S game consoles this year (test) and Xbox One will find. The in-house cloud gaming service will also be part of Game Pass Ultimate.

Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One learn to stream games

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available “later this year” on the current and previous generation and will make “more than 100 games on the console available with just one click directly from the cloud”, “without to occupy storage space ”or to assume a sometimes“ lengthy installation ”before playing.

Xbox One benefits from new games

This means that titles that have appeared exclusively for the PC and the Xbox Series X and Series S, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator (test) and the horror game The Medium, will also be streaming to the Xbox One X and One S for the first time.

Cloud gaming on consoles “will be tested intensively in the Xbox Insider Program from autumn”, said Microsoft in the context of its Xbox stream for this year's edition of Gamescom.

The key data of the cloud gaming service are specified on the console as well as on the PC, smartphone or tablet. The games are rendered in the cloud on the hardware of an Xbox Series X and displayed in 1080p with 60 frames per second.

To ensure the best possible quality on a variety of devices, cloud gaming on consoles runs at up to 1080p and 60fps – just like Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) on PCs, mobile phones and tablets.

In contrast to cloud gaming on iOS, iPadOS and Windows 10, Xbox Cloud Gaming on the consoles will not run in the browser, but will switch directly to the game at the press of a button in the library.
