Media. The Syrian Hazem Dakel may not continue as a reporter on Swedish Radio in Kalmar after his summer temporary position has expired. He himself claims that this is due to Samnytt reporting on how he campaigned in Arabic for the Social Democrats and Stefan Löfven

– The right-wing extremists won. They do not want immigrants on the radio and they succeeded, says Hazem Dakel to Dagens Kalmar.

Dakel, who fled to Sweden from Greece in 2014, got a temporary position on P4 Kalmar during the summer where he according to Dagens Kalmar did a report on “diversity”.

In connection with the temporary position expiring in August, Samnytt published an article about Hazem Dakel campaigning on Facebook for Stefan Löfven and the Social Democrats, in both Swedish and Arabic, before the election. The state radio did not claim to be aware of this commitment.

Dakel claims that it was due to Samnytt's article that he was not allowed to continue on P4 Kalmar. But the channel manager Jesper Ericson denies it.

– It has nothing to do with the newspaper article, the vacancy was over before, Ericson says to Dagens Kalmar.
