From the community comes a reader article that vividly stages the evolution of a PC and its water cooling system, which has been modernized several times since March 2020, and which can be understood as a kind of blog or diary. The journey goes from the Corsair H110i, a 280 all-in-one water cooling system, to the custom loop.

In his reader article “minimii and the Wakü – one Neverending story? ”the community member“ minimii ”takes the reader on a journey through the history of his computer system and the built-in cooling solution. Everything began in March 2020 with the first lockdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following setup based on AM4 became the starting point and at the beginning still with the Alpenföhn Ben Nevis air-cooled, often recommended in the purchase advice of the ComputerBase-Forum.

  • AMD Ryzen 2600 (test)
  • 8 GB RAM
  • AM4 mainboard
  • Alpenföhn Ben Nevis
  • Nvidia GeForce 1050 Ti

The starting point has already been staged, but should not satisfy the author for a long time .

It all started with an air-cooled AM4 system (picture: ComputerBase-Forum)

In the various revisions, the Corsair H110i with 280 mm radiator should also be specially designed for overclockers addressed Lian Li O11 Dynamic as well as a scene in the style of Star Wars.

In the meantime there was a very short interlude with a Scythe Mugen 5 (test), which finally had to give way to a set from the manufacturer Alphacool.

Feedback is expressly desired

“minimii” gives further details in his reader article and garnishes them with the corresponding image material.

  • Reader's article: “minimii and the Wakü – a never-ending story?”

Questions and suggestions as well as praise and criticism of the reader's article in the comments to this message and in the forum are, as always, expressly welcome.

A water cooling …
… im Wandel

The final to-do list makes it clear that the author or his system and the water cooling have not yet reached the final status and subscribing to the article in the ComputerBase forum should prove to be quite worthwhile.
