Public beta of WhatsApp for Desktop

According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp team wants to ensure that more people give feedback in the run-up to the official release. If you sign up you will automatically get all beta updates that are released from now on and you can already try the upcoming features. If you run into problems, you can report this with screenshots via WhatsApp Desktop Settings > Contact Us.

You can sign up for the beta of WhatsApp for Desktop here. You will then get the latest version for public testers, 2.2133.1. This includes a new option to record voice messages. You can see the sound waves while recording, but you can also pause and listen before sending anything. This feature is also under development for WhatsApp for iOS and will be available in a future update.

This weekend it was also announced that WhatsApp is finalizing an iPad app. This is evident from hints in the beta. As soon as multi-device support is rolled out, you can stay connected to WhatsApp on all your devices, even if you don't have your iPhone to hand or when the battery is empty. More new WhatsApp features are coming, which we've rounded up for you in a roundup.
