Carina Bergfeldt, 41, urged her followers on Instagram to swish money to the Swedish Afghanistan Committee. In this way, she raised more than one million kronor for the organization in one day.
She herself stated that the initiative might lead to her being “scolded by SVT's ethics department or any manager soon”.
The collection has aroused harsh criticism among her colleagues on SVT, according to sources to DN. Colleagues are worried that this type of action will damage viewers 'confidence in SVT employees' impartiality.

Anne Lagercrantz, division manager for SVT Nyheter, states in an email to Aftonbladet that she fully understands Carina Bergfeldt's activism.
“It is impossible not to be affected by news from Afghanistan and everyone who works at SVT is covered by freedom of expression. But private engagements can affect work tasks and coverage areas. This is especially important in journalism where we must always be free and protect our independence. “Carina and I therefore completely agree that in future she will not be able to monitor, for example, the Swedish Afghanistan Committee”, writes Anne Lagercrantz.
