That electric cars were “well seen” in Norway it is not; certainly a novelty, it is the first country in the world by index of penetration and in the month of July 2021 it & egrave; reached another record, with piston cars that are practically disappearing from circulation. Looking at the most important numbers; below & egrave; easy to do the math and notice how the latter now represent 8.4% of sales, the rest (or 91.6%) is been caught by electric and hybrid.

Naturally, there is talk of new registrations, certainly not of a fleet of vehicles, it is still impressive to note what the cross-section is to date: gi & agrave; in 2020 & egrave; the halfway point occurred with 54% of new cars sold with electric motors only, but last month we & egrave; even touched 64.1%.

The pure electric cars have gnawed little at the hybrids, which went from 31.7% in 2020 to the current 27.6%, but & egrave; from combustion cars that & egrave; the actual transition occurred: both petrol and diesel they still boasted double-digit values in July last year (10.4% and 12.8% respectively) and now they both find themselves relegated to around 4% market shares. The trend & egrave; therefore more & ugrave; than clear, the transition is nevertheless taking place much more; quickly compared to many other countries where the population (and the car fleet) counts on considerably higher numbers.

The numbers refer to the Norwegian market only in July 2021

We could imagine Norway as a dip into the near future, analyzing direction and systems, but also a nice test bed for charging networks and new models on the way. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the Scandinavian country is chosen by some brands as the first landing place in Europe for the launch of their models; just think of Nio who has followed exactly this path and still does not sell in the rest of the Old Continent.

To dictate the rules last month & egrave; was the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, also available in Italy from May and particularly popular in high latitudes. Another SUV follows, the Skoda Enyaq based on the Volkswagen Group's MED platform, and a hybrid, the Toyota Rav4, closes the podium. It should be noted that also in Norway the ID.4 (4th place) is doing better for Volkswagen than its younger sister ID.3 (11th place).

Here are the most popular models? sold in July 2021, in the lead the Ford Mustang Mach-E

Obviously, these are “partial” data. because & eacute; referring to a single month, & egrave; therefore it is possible that certain deliveries accumulate in given periods rather than others. It will be very interesting to evaluate again the sales trend in Norway at the end of the year, taking stock in a country that is already entered the future of mobility on rubber.
