Admit it, you're interested in learning more & ugrave; because & eacute; the price and the look are not bad at all, especially if there is behind it; a company of a certain thickness like Honda (although we are talking here about the Chinese branch Wuyang-Honda). I do not blame you, also because & eacute; electric scooters have quickly become more and more; also interesting in our part, with costs that quickly dropped thanks also to state and regional incentives, but no one had dropped so much; much like Honda with the new U-BE.

Let's clarify immediately that this is a model currently destined only for the Chinese market, the most; receptive to the segment and therefore also the most & ugrave; Interesting. The other bad news concerns the limited power of this U-BE: only half a horsepower and a 350W rear wheel motor capable of pushing it to 25 km/h. And yes, calling it a scooter is; perhaps too much, given the characteristics Honda has equated it to an electric bicycle and for this reason it has limited it to speed; maximum allowed for this type of vehicle.

Single seat, large color display and small front disc brake, the equipment is; rather minimal as on the other hand the appearance. Three batteries available: 8V 15Ah (720 Wh), 48V 20Ah (960 Wh) and 48V 24Ah (1,152 Wh) which would guarantee an autonomy of 55 km, 70km and 80km respectively.

The price of 3,099 RMB is surprising which, at today's exchange rate, translates into only 408 euros. An unprecedented positioning also for China, despite speed limitations; restrict enough the circle of interest of those who want to at least touch the speed limits; citizens. Of course, you don't need a license to drive it.

For the more & ugrave; demanding Honda has made available another model presented earlier this month, I'm talking about the U-Go which sports a 1.8 kW peak and speed; maximum speed of 53 km/h in its most variant; thrust. Alternatively there is the basic one with a power of 800W and speed; maximum set at 43 km/h (more or less like all electric scooters in sharing), in both cases we rely on a removable lithium-ion battery of 48V, 30Ah and capacity; of 1.44 kWh.

The U-GO model? two-seater and reaches up to 53 km/h

The Honda U-GO therefore aims more at the top and can & ograve; be comparable in all respects to a scooter, and as such has a higher price; high but still very competitive: in China it starts at around 990 euros (7.499 RMB) and even here there are no indications of a possible marketing outside the borders. Too bad, it could also be a valid alternative in our country, let's hope Honda gives us a little thought.
