The survey is based on responses from 20,000 people in the world's 20 largest economies, the G20 countries.

In total, 58 percent of the population in these countries state that they are “very concerned about the state of the planet “. But among Swedes, the figure is only 40 percent.

It can be compared with Turkey (79 percent) Brazil (74 percent) and the United States (45 percent).

Barely three quarters in all countries also answers that they believe the earth is heading towards irreversible turning points, “tipping points”, due to human influence. A fewer proportion of Swedes, 63 percent, believe in this according to SVT.

Of the Swedes, 74 percent of Swedes answer that they should do more to protect nature. That proportion is significantly higher in countries such as Indonesia (95 percent) and China (93 percent).
