Abroad. Starting this week, the corona vaccine will be offered to all children and adolescents aged 12-15 in Finland.

A child can decide on vaccination without parental permission. This “provided that the professional in health care who provides the vaccine assesses that the minor, depending on his or her age and level of development, can decide on his or her vaccination”, the Finnish Ministry of Health writes in a press release.
If the child “does not want or is unable to decide on his or her own vaccination”, however, the guardians' consent to the corona vaccination is required.

The children will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, which is currently the only corona vaccine with a conditional marketing authorization for 12-year-olds in use in Finland.
