Weekend viewing tips: Mr. Corman, Vivo, Cruel Summer and more

We hardly watch traditional TV anymore. Streaming video services like Apple TV+ (try for free), Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video are more important than ever. But local providers such as Videoland, Film1 and Ziggo also have plenty to offer. More series are added every week and it is nice to know which series, films and documentaries really stand out. We have therefore made a selection.

New on Apple TV+: Mr. Corman

There's something new on Apple TV+, a tragicomedy drama series about a musician with big dreams that he couldn't fulfill. He now teaches at a primary school, where he is consumed by doubt and uncertainty. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the lead role and also wrote the script. We also see Debra Winger, Juno Temple (from Ted Lasso) and rapper Logic.

Starring Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, but Robert Downey Jr. has been replaced by another actor. Showing weekly on Disney+ starting mid-next week.

Grey's Anatomy (S17)

With only 17 episodes, this season is slightly shorter, but a season 18 is coming. Fans, meanwhile, can continue watching the spin-off Station 19, about a Seattle fire station.
