In the upcoming Insider Preview Builds, Microsoft is rolling out several new and revised apps for Windows 11, including the new Snipping Tool. The well-known tool for screenshots celebrated its first entry into the operating system on January 30, 2007 with the release of Windows Vista The Snipping Tool has also undergone a visual and technical revision, but Microsoft does not go into detail here yet. Chief Product Officer Panos Panay just shared a short video on Twitter for a first look at the new UI. The Snipping Tool, which was first found in its original form in the cross-system PowerToys from Microsoft, is to be delivered promptly and be part of the upcoming Insider Previews.

Word in Dark Mode
In addition, a few hours ago Microsoft shared a tweet that for the first time combines the user interface of its in-house word processor Word in dark mode with the design elements and icons known from Windows 11.

A new standard font for Windows and Office is also expected before the release of Windows 11 (report).
