Vodafone is bringing the campaign for gigabit cables with 1 Gbit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, which last started in February 2020 with the disappearance of Unitymedia, for a permanent price of 39.90 Euro back per month, provided the tariff is booked in the period up to November 1st. There are no costs for the first six months.

From August 10th, Vodafone will again be offering a promotional tariff with Gigabit speed in the cable network with GigaCable Max, which will be offered permanently at a reduced price of 39.90 euros per month, provided the booking is made during the promotional period. In addition to Internet with 1 Gbit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, the scope of services also includes a flat rate for telephony in the German landline network. The specified transmission rates are maximum values, “normally” 850 Mbit/s or 35 Mbit/s, but at least 600 Mbit/s and 15 Mbit/s should be achieved.

10 euros less than regular

The GigaCable Max costs 10 euros less per month than Vodafone for the cable tariff “Red Internet & amp; Phone 1000 ”with the same scope of services. Vodafone is still offering this tariff up to and including August 9 for EUR 49.99 per month, with only EUR 19.99 being payable within the first six months of the minimum contract period of 24 months. Because there is currently no provision fee of usually 69.99 euros and no shipping costs, Vodafone speaks of an online benefit of 170 euros.

None Costs in the first six months

The editorial team is still in contact with the press office as to whether Vodafone will also waive the deployment fee and shipping costs for the GigaCable Max and provide a free WiFi router. It has already been officially announced that from August 10 to November 1, the previously reduced price will be completely eliminated within the first six months, so that effectively 18 months at 39.99 euros within the minimum contract period will be incurred. This change affects not only the GigaCable Max, but also all “Red Internet & amp; Phone Cable “tariffs.

Seamless transition from DSL planned

GigaCable Max is primarily intended to lure DSL customers into the cable network, explains Vodafone. However, existing customers can also switch to the tariff, provided it is a cheaper tariff or a more expensive tariff at the end of the minimum contract period. Vodafone currently has 8.2 million gigabit users, and over 22 million households can book the highest tariff.

For DSL changers, the switch to cable connections should run smoothly. For this, Vodafone will not cancel the DSL connection with the old provider until the new connection works. Depending on the remaining time, the customer can use both connections in parallel until the DSL is switched off. There are no double base prices. Because in this scenario Vodafone waives the basic fee for the cable connection for a maximum of 12 months.
