It is not; a mystery that Huawei is stepping up its activities; within the automotive sector. Although for the moment the company & agrave; you do not seem officially willing to produce one of its models directly, it is expanding its partnerships with car manufacturers by offering them its technologies developed for this sector. In the last days & egrave; news arrived that GAC Group , a Chinese car manufacturer, will collaborate; with Huawei to develop and market an SUV defined as & quot; smart & quot ;. The goal is to bring it to its debut by the end of 2023 .

The details of the new model are not very many. For the moment & egrave; it was communicated that the SUV pogger & agrave; on the GAC platform GEP.30 and which will use & agrave; Huawei's Computing and Communication Architecture (CCA). It will be of a 100% electric model of medium-large size. In addition, it will be able to rely on an advanced Level 4 autonomous driving system (Here we explain the levels of autonomous driving).

This SUV, however, will be; only the first of a series of new electric vehicles resulting from the collaboration between GAC Group and Huawei. The aim of the Chinese manufacturer is to have a fully electrified range of cars by 2025. It will be & agrave; therefore it is very interesting to find out what the fruits of this work will be. There will be; however, time to better understand the contours of the collaboration since the launch of the new car is still a long way off.

It is worth noting that the first relationships between the two companies date back to 2017 for then intensify in 2020. The SUV will not be & agrave; the first car equipped with Huawei technologies: remember in this regard the Arcfox Alpha S of the BAIC Group. The company & agrave; is also working on the development of autonomous driving solutions, a technology that we will probably see within the GAC Group models.

For Huawei, the automotive sector represents an important option in order to diversify its operational areas after the Trump government in 2020 had & quot; choked & quot; its activities in the smartphone sector. But really it will limit; to collaborations with other manufacturers? At the moment it seems to s & igrave; but it is not; said he can't change his mind in the future.
