The Mac Pro is a powerful machine that is mainly used for the real professionals. And not for someone who does some photo or video editing, but for large companies such as film studios or similar professionals. The Mac Pro is modular, so you can assemble the parts yourself and adjust them later. Apple has now put three new graphics cards for the Mac Pro in the online store.
New Mac Pro graphics cards available
The graphics cards are available for the Mac Pro from 2019, the model that finally succeeded the black trash Mac Pro at the time. It concerns a Radeon Pro W6800X MPX Module, Radeon Pro W6800X Duo MPX module and the Radeon Pro W6900X MPX module. The most powerful version is the W6900X MPX Module, which according to Apple delivers the most powerful graphics. It is primarily intended for demanding professional applications.
When putting together the Mac Pro, these are the prices Apple charges:
- W6800X with 32GB GDDR6 memory: +€2,760,-
- W6800X Duo with 64GB DDR6 memory: +€5,290,-
- W6900X with 32GB GDDR6 memory: +€6,440,-
Above prices only apply as an additional cost when assembling the Mac Pro. It is not yet clear what the prices are for the separate graphics cards. Apple still has the Intel Mac Pro from 2019 in its range, although there are rumors about an upcoming model. There would be a new Mac Pro in 2022 that is extra powerful. This is a completely new model with Apple Silicon.
