Philip Botström, 30, announced at the turn of the year that he would resign as union chairman of SSU at the union's congress in August.

– It is time for a generational change, he said then.

On Sunday, Lisa Nåbo from Rimforsa in Kinda municipality was elected new chairman of the youth union.

Lisa Nåbo will be something as unusual as a politician who has a real job. She is now finishing her training as a police officer by serving as an aspirant.

She told Aktuellt i Politiken in June that she almost feels that she is “exotic” to other politicians because she has a “regular knegar job” as a police officer. .

At a press conference after the congress ended, Lisa Nåbo said that she wants to focus on law and order.

– We will dare to talk about tough punishments and the police's methods for detecting and counteracting crime. These are traditionally not issues that SSU has talked about, I hope we will change that. These are issues that we know are important for today's young people, she said according to TT.

She also wants to focus on so-called economic equality, but also to pressure the mother party to talk more about the “climate”.
