Apple also announced the new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID along with the new 2021 iMac. This is the first time that you can use a fingerprint scanner on a Mac desktop. But Apple kept the keyboard with Touch ID exclusively for this new iMac. Today that has changed. The new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID costs €159.-.
Buy Magic Keyboard with Touch ID separately: available now
Apple only sells the silver version of the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID separately. In addition to the standard model, Apple also sells the larger version with numeric keypad. The small Magic Keyboard without a Touch ID sensor (but with the modified design) is now for sale separately. If you want a colored version, you are still obliged to buy the new iMac.

Mac with Apple>Silicon Required > Note that you do need a Mac with Apple Silicon for the Touch ID sensor. That means you can only use the fingerprint scanner with the MacBook Air 2020, 13-inch MacBook Pro 2020, Mac mini 2020 and of course the iMac 2021. With the new Magic Keyboard you also get the new braided Lightning-to-USB-C cable to charge it.
New version Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad also for sale
Apple has simultaneously put slightly modified versions of the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad in the Apple Store. In both cases, it concerns only the silver-coloured version that can be purchased separately. Apple renewed the mouse and trackpad this spring with colors that match the new iMac, but the individual variants are only available in silver. Furthermore, hardly anything has changed in the specifications or design. What's new is that it comes with a braided Lightning to USB-C cable. Previously it was a standard Lightning to USB-A cable.
