It was a Monday at the end of June that Conny, 22, was visiting her 58-year-old mother Agneta in her apartment in Ystad. In the afternoon, Agneta washed and tumbled her son's clothes while he slept.

When Conny woke up, he entered the kitchen, where Agneta was sitting on a chair by an open window.

Conny was angry. The tumble dryer had caused his clothes to shrink and lose their shape. A Hugo Boss shirt no longer fit and had also become plump. According to the son, the sweater, together with a pair of shorts that were also destroyed, cost SEK 3,000.

– Do you not read the notes? Do you just wash anyway? Can't you do better? said the angry young man to his mother.

Conny started beating Agneta. She apologized and explained that it was not meant to ruin his clothes, but Conny just got angrier and angrier.

The blows rained down on Agneta and hit her in the back of the head, on her hands and on her legs.

Agneta cried. Conny closed the window and the balcony door so no one could hear what was going on. The abuse then continued in the living room.

– Stop, stop, let me live, let me be just, do not hit, shouted Agneta. Her prayer sounded unheard. Conny put the shrunken Hugo Boss shirt around Agneta's neck and tightened it with both hands, something that Agneta describes in police interrogation as that he “tried to strangle her”.

Agneta has a serious lung disease that makes her tired and weak and forces her to breathe oxygen through a tube 16 hours a day.

Conny stopped tightening her sweater and instead switched to smashing the interior of the apartment. Among other things, he kicked open the bathroom door, tore off a metal towel rail from the wall and smashed a porcelain object that Agneta inherited from her mother.

Conny shouted various accusations at Agneta. He called her, among other things, “handicapped”, “pussy” and “whore”. Eventually, he left her home. The beating and the subsequent arson attack in the apartment had lasted for between one and two hours.

After Conny left, Agneta called her ex-husband, who is Conny's father, and told him what had happened. The ex-husband then called the police. When he was heard by the police the next day, he mentioned that Conny “has a 16-year-old girl up in Stockholm who will continue to wash his clothes”.

During police questioning, Agneta says that Conny has ADHD and that he completely lacks empathy for other people. According to her, similar incidents have occurred on three previous occasions, but these have not been as serious.

Conny always struck with an open hand when he abused his mother. The injuries were therefore limited to bruises and redness.

Conny was arrested by police the day after the assault. The first two times he was interrogated, he completely denied that he had abused Agneta.

– She exaggerates, she has become angry man, Conny answered when the police asked him if it was he who had caused Agneta's injuries.

– I did not even know that she had injuries. I had no idea, said Conny, who claimed that Agneta lied about abusing her because she was mad at him.

After Conny was detained for two days, however, he admitted in a third interrogation that he had subjected Agneta to minor abuse or harassment because he “pinched her on the calves and hit her with an open palm on the hands”. Regarding the strangulation of the shirt, he said that “it may have looked like a strangulation but it was not strangulation for me”.

Conny was charged in early July with assault at Lund District Court, after which the district court announced the verdict in the case on July 30th. The district court states in its judgment that there is no reason to question what Agneta said, while Conny on the other hand “gave the impression of wanting to tone down the seriousness of the incident”. & Nbsp; had difficulty defending themselves ”. The sentence was one month's imprisonment for assault of the normal degree.

Extracts from the criminal record show that Conny has previously been prosecuted for various crimes on a large number of occasions. He has, among other things, been convicted of aggravated theft, assault, drunk driving, minor drug offenses and illegal driving.

Conny is a Swedish citizen. His father is Swedish while his mother, Agneta, has roots in an Eastern European country.
