A good four years after its appearance, Forza Motorsport 7 (test) will be withdrawn from the market. As of September 15, the game and all associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. Owners can continue to play as usual. Multiplayer and online services are also retained.

There is a special feature for Game Pass players: If they have bought a DLC for Forza Motorsport 7, they will receive a token on August 2nd with which they can continue to play the title.

To have cheaper until the end

Until September 15th, Microsoft the game also at a discount. The main program is sold for around 10 euros in the Microsoft Store, the Ultimate Edition with all DLCs costs around 20 euros.

For fans of good racing games on real racetracks with a gigantic fleet of vehicles and a coordination between arcade and simulation, this provides a lot of value for the money, especially since there is a lack of competition in this segment and Microsoft has thoroughly improved the reward system. Forza Horizon, which will be continued this year, is trimmed much more towards the arcade and scores with an open world, i.e. a different concept.

Developer Turn 10 does not give a reason for the end of sales after around four years. It is again likely that expiring licenses will make further sales impossible. These will not focus on the soundtrack, but rather on the vehicle fleet.

The imminent disappearance is not unexpected, and Forza Horizon 2 also disappeared from the sales area after a good four years. However, there was at least a successor to be had there. Forza Motorsport 7, however, is the current part of the series.

Subscription future

This is not a problem as long as there is a successor that fills the same gap, especially against the background of the Game Pass. Because the game disappears from the offer of the subscription – because it grants rental access, but does not make the owner of the games. Thanks to the advance warning, affected players still have enough opportunity to buy more if in doubt.
