An Apple event is always something to look forward to, as it is guaranteed to deliver new products or software. During such an Apple event, Apple reveals its plans for the coming months, with, for example, the latest iPhone or Mac. Product announcements, new feature reveals and more: they're all coming up. We've already had two Apple events in 2021, but how many more to come?

Upcoming Apple events in 2021

Currently, it looks like we can expect two more events this year. One of these is in any case a certainty: the annual iPhone event. The second event is not quite certain yet, but at least more announcements are expected.

  • October/November

< h3 id="September">September: the (almost) annual iPhone event

Expectation: iPhone 13 Series, Apple Watch Series 7 and iPad mini 2021
With the exception of last year, Apple has held an iPhone event every September since 2012. This is the event most Apple fans look forward to as the new iPhone will be presented there. Last year was the exception: instead of during the September event, the iPhone 12 was only announced in October during a separate presentation. But this year everything seems to be going back to normal. In addition to the September event with the iPhone 13, we also expect the Apple Watch Series 7, the iPad mini 2021 and a new iPad 2021.

The date of the 2021 iPhone event has not yet been announced, but one is already set in circulation. Apple usually announces the event a week to two weeks in advance.

October or November: New Macs

Expectation: All-new MacBook Pro models
The second event that may be scheduled for this year revolves around new MacBooks. It's been a year this fall since Apple released the first Mac with Apple Silicon. This means that the second generation of Apple Silicon Macs is also planned. Rumor has it that these are the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro. These get a completely new design, with some connections returning (such as the SD card slot) and the Touch Bar seems to disappear. Apple is also said to be working on a new Mac Pro and Mac mini, but whether they will all come this year remains to be seen.

A separate event of about an hour in which at least the two new MacBooks are announced is certainly not a strange idea. In the past, Apple has held events in October or November that revolve around the Mac. In which month Apple will hold the event this year, however, is still a mystery. In our opinion, the end of October is a logical date.

Why not three events this year?

As you may recall, Apple held three events in the fall last year: in September on the Apple Watch and iPad (Air), in October on the iPhone 13, and in November on the Macs. This was mainly due to production problems as a result of the corona pandemic. In theory, Apple could also split the announcements into three events this year. For example, the iPhone and Apple Watch in September, the iPads in October and the Macs in November. But we don't think that will be the case, because an entire event about just an iPad mini and entry-level iPad seems a bit too much of a good thing.

Apple events already held in 2021

Apple has already held two events this year: one in April and one in June. If you have nothing to do on a wet summer day, it is always nice to watch the events again.

    April Event: Tons of Announcements

    Date: April 20, 2021
Apple's April 2021 event will go down in the books as a very diverse event. There was actually something for everyone: new iPads, iMac, a new iPhone color, Apple TV and even a completely new accessory. After years of rumours, the AirTag was finally announced, although we are mainly thinking of the newly designed iMac.

    Announced:

    • iPad Pro 2021
    • iMac 2021
    • AirTag
    • Apple TV 4K 2021 with new Siri Remote
    • Purple iPhone 12

WWDC 2021: full of new software

    Date: June 7, 2021
This event is perhaps the freshest in your memory. At WWDC 2021, Apple announced all new versions of its operating systems, such as iOS 15 and macOS Monterey. This year's innovations are a bit smaller than in previous years, but there is nevertheless a lot of fun in between. Lately we've already discussed all the new features of iOS 15 and more, but you can watch the presentation again below.

    Announced:

    • iOS 15
    • iPadOS 15
    • macOS Monterey
    • watchOS 8
    • tvOS 15
