Amazon has released two-way video calling with zoom on the 2nd generation Fire TV Cube. In order to be able to use zoom on the Fire TV Cube and thus potentially on the large TV in the living room, a compatible webcam must be connected to the Fire TV Cube and the latest firmware must be installed for it.
If these requirements are met, you can download Zoom from the Fire TV AppStore. After installing the app, users can either take part in Zoom meetings as a guest or log into their existing Zoom account to see their contacts, view upcoming meetings and join them. Registered users can also start their own meetings via the Fire TV Cube.
In the USA, zoom can also be operated via Alexa
In Germany, the Zoom app is controlled via the Alexa voice remote control. In the USA, where the function has also been available since today, the digital voice assistant Alexa can also be used for many functions. The webcam connected to the Fire TV Cube must support USB Video Class (UVC) and a resolution of at least 720p with 30 frames per second. However, Amazon recommends a webcam with 1080p and a field of view of 60-90 degrees, 4K models are not recommended. The compatible webcams that can be connected to the Fire TV Cube (2nd Gen.) via a micro USB to USB adapter include the following models:

Amazon introduced Alexa video calls via the 2nd generation Fire TV Cube to another Alexa-enabled device with a screen at the end of 2020.
