Sistani, who comes from the Afghan capital Kabul, was sentenced on Wednesday to one year in prison for selling fake corona fabrics.

When the criminal suspicions against him arose in January this year, he was fired from his former employer Södra Älsborgs hospital in Borås. Despite this, he then managed to get a new job as an assistant physician at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg.

The reason was that Sistani applied for the new position under another name. In his job application to Sahlgrenska Hospital, he called himself “Farshid Azam” instead of “Farshid Sistani”. In this way, the hospital did not discover that he had previously been fired and received an injunction from the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate.

The hospital also did not initially check Farshid Sistani's doctor's ID.

– anxious to recruit a doctor, because there is a shortage of doctors, says Sahlgrenska Hospital's operations manager Mathias Alvidius to Samnytt.

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is currently investigating internally how a doctor could be hired despite giving the wrong name in the application.
