The iMac 2021 is Apple's latest showpiece, with a completely new design and a fast Apple Silicon chip. In our review of the iMac 2021 you could already read that we are enthusiastic about this model, but the biggest lack is a larger variant. There have been rumors for some time that a larger iMac with Apple Silicon is in the works. Rumored to be @Dylandkt, who has been more likely to give good predictions, says the larger iMac is slated to be released in 2022.
‘Release larger iMac planned for 2022’
The new larger iMac, with a possible 30 or 32-inch display, will be the successor to the current 27-inch iMac with Intel chip. In addition to the completely new design, the new version also receives an Apple Silicon chip. This is probably an M1X chip, as an extra powerful variant of the current M1. This would be especially interesting for professionals and can probably also be found in the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros that Apple is expected to release this fall.
The high end iMac will release in 2022. 🙃

But the release would be even longer. According to the rumor, Apple does not want to divide the attention too much between two product categories that both appeal to the same target group. Apple would therefore have decided to postpone the release until sometime in 2022.
Just as an explanation for those who are wondering, the high end iMac is not expected to release in Q4 alongside the other M1X Mac's. Apple simply does not want their devices to compete for attention and delay's in product releases have led to this timetable.

Shortly after the announcement of the iMac 2021, we wrote an article about why there is no successor to the 27-inch iMac is. One of the main reasons was that Apple's high-end models were not yet ready for Apple Silicon. That is why Apple has only equipped the entry-level MacBooks with its own chip.
