With the exception of precious metals, commodity prices have risen sharply as more and more people get better as corona packages rain around the world.

At the import stage, before customs and VAT have been imposed, Arabian beans from Brazil now cost 2.1 dollars per pound, which corresponds to a kilo price of about 40 kronor.

This is an increase of 60 percent since January.

The prices of robust beans, which has a less coveted taste of arabica beans, has risen by 40 percent this year.

In its long article, AFP talks about political unrest in Colombia and frost-damaged highland fields in Panama. But in the last sentence of the article, the news agency writes in the end:

“The current increase in the price of coffee is also part of a larger inflation & shy; pattern in the commodity market, which includes both agricultural commodities and industrial commodities”.
