In recent days, thousands of South Africans have taken part in the looting, which has left shopping centers and factories smashed and in flames. The police have not been able to stop the violence. Important thoroughfares have been blocked and burnt-out car wrecks line the roads. on the east coast of the country, but also Johannesburg.

According to a report, there is a risk of cannibalism in the worst affected areas when people do not have food to eat. More than a hundred people have already died in the chaos. But with limited food stocks and no new deliveries, it is far from everyone who can buy food.

The government has deployed 25,000 soldiers to stop the violence, but critics say it is a little too late. The extensive devastation is already a fact.
