The car market in Europe 2021 continues to show signs of difficulty; also in June. ACEA has provided European registration numbers which, however, must be read carefully. The report highlights that compared to the same period of 2020, at the level of the European Union there is; was a growth in registrations of 10.4%. Given that it rises to + 13.3% also considering the EU-EFTA countries and the United Kingdom. However, a year ago the Old Continent was still struggling with the effects of the pandemic. Wanting, therefore, to make a comparison with 2019, it turns out that the return to & quot; normal & agrave; & quot; & egrave; still far away.
A MARKET IN DIFFICULTY? 
In fact, in June 2021, 1,282,503 cars were registered (EU + EFTA + UK) against 1,491,465 cars in the same month of 2019. It therefore means a decrease of about 14%. This is a fact that highlights how the automotive sector is still experiencing a difficult time. A sector that in addition to still having to deal with the consequences of the health crisis is; also grappling with the problem of supplying chips. By way of further comparison, 1,083,795 cars were registered in May 2021.
The ACEA report then goes on to analyze the main European automotive markets including & egrave; the Italian one is also present. The comparison is; with 2020 and therefore not exactly correct. For Italy, in fact, there is a growth of 12.6% but already; we know that compared to 2019 there is was a decline of 13.3%.
Going to take a look at the data provided by ACEA at the level of the Groups , in the first position we find the Volkswagen Group which in June 2021 obtained 345,633 registrations against 274,055 in 2020. The Stellantis Group , on the other hand, can; count on 258,657 registrations against 231,916 in 2020. In third place there is; the Renault Group with 127,250 registrations (156,527 in 2020). Then follow the Hyundai Group, the BMW Group, the Toyota Group and the Daimler Group.
