Microsoft brings Windows to your browser, including iPad and Mac

Windows 365 is perfect for a ‘hybrid world’, according to Microsoft. It currently only works for business users, but there's a good chance it will become available to consumers as well. Windows 365 is suitable for any business, no matter how large. Self-employed persons can also use it. Windows 365 ensures that you have a virtual PC available in the cloud. You can customize this completely to your liking, just like you would with a physical PC. For example, you can choose 512GB storage and 16GB RAM.

You also have full Windows software available to you. The status is also saved, so you can continue on another device without losing your work. It's especially good news for people who use the iPad (Pro) a lot, because you have a full desktop environment at your disposal, with traditional windows and software.

The Zero Trust architecture should ensure that everything is secure. Logging in to a virtual PC just like that is also not possible, because multiple authentication is required. Everything else is encrypted, including your network traffic. Microsoft built it on the Azure Virtual Desktop platform so that administrators in enterprises can keep track of all cloud PCs in use. You pay a monthly fee per user.

Windows 365 will start on August 2, 2021 and will work with Windows 10. You can also switch to Windows 11 later. You need a recent web browser, which you can find on the iPad, Mac, Android and Linux. There will be two versions of Windows 365: Business and Enterprise. Both can be configured with a single CPU, 2GB RAM and 64GB storage as entry-level, up to eight CPUs, 32GB RAM and 512GB storage on the top. There are a total of 12 different configurations.
